Senator Dodd will address a significant audience of government officials, film and entertainment industry leaders, and key media at the Renaissance Mumbai Convention Center Hotel, in Mumbai.
During his maiden visit to India as Chairman and CEO of MPAA, Chris Dodd will meet government officials, film and entertainment leaders to further strengthen ties between two of the largest movie industries of the world, Hollywood and the Indian film industry.
Senator Dodd, who took over the stewardship of MPAA in March 2011, is also scheduled to meet students of Whistling Woods International film school and participate in an exclusive presentation of the LA India Film Council, an initiative to develop and strengthen motion picture production, distribution, technology, content protection and commercial cooperation between the city of Los Angeles, the home of Hollywood and the Indian film industry.
On his upcoming visit, Senator Dodd said “I am looking forward to visiting India, a country rich in culture and heritage and the world’s largest producer of films. Cooperation and collaboration remain crucial to promoting and protecting film communities across the globe. I hope to build on the relationship we have established with the film industry in India and strengthen these bonds so that together we can face new challenges, chiefly movie theft which continues to plague our industries undermines innovation, creativity and threaten the livelihoods of millions of people.”
