New Delhi, India, January 29, 2013: Comguard Networks, a part of Spectrum Group of Companies, Dubai and a leading value added distributor of global networking and security products across Middle- East, Africa and India. WinMagic Inc., a Canada-based data security firm jointly organized end-customer events on data encryption in Delhi & Bangalore respectively. The meet in Delhi was held on January 15th, followed by Bangalore meet organized on January 17th, 2013.

The main aim behind organising this seminar was to provide customers a platform to exchange knowledge, interact and develop a better understanding about significance of encryption. Encryption acts as a shield to one’s data, providing security to the authorised person’s records, at the same time keeping the work and access smooth and secure.

Ajay Singh Chauhan, CEO Comguard Networks (Spectrum Group), Nameet Dokare- Country Head Sales, India, Win Magic, Iain Airey- Vice President, EMEA & India, Win Magic, John Thompson- Technical Consultant, EMEA &India, Win Magic attended the seminar.

Ajay Singh Chauhan, CEO Spectrum Group, said, “India has got a good IT market. We have 30-50 partners in India and would like to add channel partners and products, majorly from software, hardware and security space and hospitality areas. “

Canada based WinMagic provides secure, manageable and easy-to-use data encryption solutions and develops full-disk encryption software.

Iain Airey- Vice President, EMEA & India, WinMagic said, “People often lose their devices – laptop, USB, mobile, tablet, desktop etc. but more than this people lose their valuable data which affects not just the individual but the company too. Encryption provides security to the same as it doesn’t allow unauthorized individual the right to access encrypted file or folder. We are looking forward to organising more such seminars.”

Followed by the presentations from the dignitaries, Mr. John Thompson- Technical Consultant EMEA & India, WinMagic gave a demo on how to create keys and encrypt data.

Through encryption, users can restrict access to personal files specifically or on a network. All files under a single folder or data partition are automatically encrypted. FFE increases the security of sensitive files by encrypting information on top of regularly fully encrypted hard drives. Users simply have to drag and drop files into the already encrypted folder.

The event brought together CXO’s, CIOL’s, CTO’s, IT Professionals and senior management in a collaborative environment to present and discuss issues relating to IT security.
