New Delhi, May 02, 2012: 3D design, 3D Digital Mock Up and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions company Dassault Systèmes today announced its ongoing commitment to PLM openness by continuing to support the next phases of the Codex of PLM Openness (CPO), an initiative driven by automotive OEMs, suppliers and the ProSTEP iViP association.

In 2011, when industry standards association ProSTEP iViP and some German automotive OEMs began developing the idea of an initiative dedicated to defining and addressing problems and standards for product data management and virtual product creation, Dassault Systèmes joined in to support the creation of the Codex of PLM Openness.

”We are very pleased that Dassault Systèmes supports the idea of the CPO and actively participated in its creation. Dassault Systèmes was one of the major contributors and lead the workgroup defining the glossary definition“, says ProSTEP iViP e. V General Manager Steven Vettermann.

“For 30 years Dassault Systèmes’ executive team has driven PLM relentlessly towards an open, unified collaborative experience for our customers,” said Dominique Florack, Senior Executive Vice President, Products, Research and Development, Dassault Systèmes. “Openness is critical to collaboration and, thus, innovation. Dassault Systèmes is very much in favor of the CPO and actively supports this effort.”

A proponent of openness, Dassault Systèmes has architected its V6 3D Experience platform to take advantage of its long years of research and development in infrastructure protocols and interoperability. The V6 platform’s Web services infrastructure is compliant with a variety of interface standards and supports multiple exchange standards, such as STEP, IGES, FMI, AUTOSAR and JT. From open interoperability between V6 and competitive PDM, CAD and enterprise systems to lots of publicly available APIs, the V6 platform has been developed to support openness.

In the 1990s, Dassault Systèmes created an open, comprehensive development environment called the CATIA Application Architecture (CAA). Buoyed by its success resulting in several third party applications for its V5 platform, the CAA concept of extensibility was enhanced when Dassault Systèmes released its open V6 CAA2 program and made thousands of APIs available to its partner community.

“Our support of interoperability standards between V6 and other CAD, PDM, and enterprise systems has been a key focus over the past years,” continued Florack. “The irresponsible claims of openness and accusations of non-openness have engendered unnecessary fear, uncertainty, and doubt in the industry and have adversely distracted many customers of PLM solutions.”

With this, Dassault Systèmes has officially signaled its willingness to continue supporting openness throughout its valued solutions.

These CA Technologies security products will provide Web access management for the forthcoming Swift Exchange to provide unprecedented liquidity, transparency and usability of reward points and miles, making them as easy to spend as cash.

“Designing Swift Exchange with security in mind from the ground up is a strategic priority,” said Swift Exchange Chief Information Security Officer Don Codling. “The integration of state-of-the-art security controls from CA Technologies underscores the depth of our commitment to protecting our environment in an era of unprecedented security breaches.”

The sensitive information associated with loyalty programs and the need to balance security and convenience for reward providers, merchants, or consumers made Swift Exchange to select CA SiteMinder and CA SiteMinder Federation from CA Technologies, for its loyalty payment platform.

“It’s hard to find an organization today that isn’t transacting business online or using a cloud application for its operations,” said Mike Denning, general manager, Security business, CA Technologies. “As Swift Exchange sets out to introduce a breakthrough commerce ecosystem for the loyalty program market, it clearly understands that controlling and securing access to Web applications is essential and needs to be addressed up front in the development stage, instead of being the last stop on the assembly line.”

CA SiteMinder and CA SiteMinder Federation will enable Swift Exchange to strike a strategic balance of security and business enablement, making the exchange convenient and easy-to-use for customers.

CA Technologies Web access management solution boasts Web single sign-on, flexible authentication, policy-based authorization, and scalability.

“An industry transforming commerce ecosystem calls for world-class partners,” said Matt Epstein, Director, Technology Applications at Swift Exchange. “This is particularly the case where security and access management is concerned, as we set out to bring unprecedented power and ease-of-use to the task of managing the 18 programs to which the typical loyalty member belongs.”

Facebook will support integration of the Trend Micro Smart Protection Network infrastructure, which uses cloud technology, threat correlation, and a global network of threat intelligence sensors to proactively stop malware and web threats before they reach the user’s computer. Facebook will utilize this technology to help block malicious links from their site.

When a Facebook user, on a Mac, PC or mobile device, clickson links that have been passed to them or posted on their friend’s wall, that link will automatically (and behind the scenes) be first analysed by Trend Micro’s Smart Protection Network to determine whether it’s safe or not. Deemed unsafe, Trend Micro will warn the user that the link leads to malicious websites and malware sites.
Now incorporated within Facebook’s database of external malicious URL intelligence providers, the Trend MicroSmart Protection Network infrastructure delivers advanced protection from the cloud, blocking threats in real-time while processing more than 70billion URL, email, and file queries daily. Every day, Trend Micro blocks over 1.4billion threats and processes more than 300 million new URLs.

Trend Micro and Facebook will together promote and provide security education through on-going contributions to Facebook’s Security page, e-guides, blog posts, quizzes, videos and more.

“Now that Facebook is a primary platform for communication, whether you’re nine or ninety-nine, it’s only become a bigger target for cybercriminals. This is why we’re thrilled to partner with Facebook to offer an additional layer of protection to users so they don’t have to think twice when interacting with friends and uploading pictures from their weekend.” said Suchita Vishnoi, Head – Marketing, India & SAARC at Trend Micro.

“We are thrilled to be incorporating Trend Micro’s Smart Protection Network to Facebook’s existing database of malicious URLs, and the opportunity to offer Trend Micro software to our users,” said Joe Sullivan, chief security officer at Facebook. “This partnership will better enable us to protect the people who use our service, no matter where they are in the web.”

Trend Micro’s Titanium 2012 edition helps the user socialize safely on the Internet. Social Networking Security feature automatically scans the wall and identifies safe and malicious links. A fun “skin” feature also offers consumers the opportunity to completely customize the look of their digital life protection. Titanium 2012 is powered by the Trend Micro Smart Protection Network infrastructure, providing consumers with reliable threat protection.

What began as a five-man operation is now one of the world’s largest independent software providers, an employer of more than 55,000 people in over 50 countries serving more than 183,000 customers worldwide.

It is a matter of pride for the company when three quarters of the Forbes 500 companies run SAP software. According to SAP, SAP software powers 80 percent of the companies on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index and 85 percent of the top 100 most valued brands in the world.

“When we began in 1972, our vision was to build real time business applications and we did so in close cooperation with our first customers,” said co-founder and SAP Supervisory Board chairman Hasso Plattner. “Today, SAP continues to be the trusted innovator it was then. We are driving intellectual renewal with break-through innovations like the SAP HANA platform for the next generation of real time management of businesses anytime anywhere from any device. And we have also returned to our roots, working closely with customers to make the impossible possible.”

The story of SAP is one of innovation and continuous growth. Born of a single customer’s demand and an entrepreneurial vision for technology’s business potential, SAP began its path of transforming the world of IT. Five engineers — Hasso Plattner, Dietmar Hopp, Klaus Tschira, Hans-Werner Hector and Claus Wellenreuther — were driven by the desire to help companies run their businesses better, faster and more efficiently with standard software solutions. The founders’ vision holds true and its potential continues to unfold.

“SAP’s success is based on our commitment to innovation and to our customers,” said SAP Co-CEO Jim Hagemann Snabe. “This commitment has enabled SAP to deliver leading business solutions to companies of any size and help them become best-run businesses. In a hyper-connected world with limited resources and more than 7 billion people, we are committed to leveraging this experience to help the world run better. We are proud that our software is helping to improve the lives of millions of people worldwide.”

“SAP is still fueled by the pioneering spirit that inspired our founders: We remain focused on the success of our customers. They are at the heart of our ambition to transform the industry,” said SAP Co-CEO Bill McDermott. “Our best-ever financial results, the strategic acquisitions of Sybase and SuccessFactors, our long-term investment in China and the highest share price since 2000 are a testament to our strategic direction, our customer orientation and our world-class employees.”

Celebrations are planned throughout this year. Business leaders, customers, employees, shareholders and local communities in the more than 120 countries will be included in the activities.

A gala charity concert at the opera house of the National Theater in Mannheim, Germany, where one of the original SAP offices opened 40 years ago, was hosted by SAP on April 29, 2012. Star tenor Rolando Villazón performed with the SAP symphony orchestra. Proceeds from the concert went to the World Childhood Foundation. Queen Silvia of Sweden, founder of the World Childhood Foundation, was the guest of honor.
