Call for entries opens for 2014 Adobe Youth Voices Awards

New Delhi, India, January 25, 2014: The Adobe Foundation has announced a call for entries for the third-annual Adobe Youth Voices (AYV) Awards. The Adobe Youth Voices (AYV) Awards recognizes digital media produced by youth ages 13-19 focused on driving social change in their communities.

The competition features seven standard content categories representing visual storytelling methods ranging from music videos to photo essays. Participating individuals, schools and organizations are eligible to win software, hardware, and a charitable donation to a cause of their choice. Winning entries will be featured at distinguished exhibitions including international film festivals.

Eligible youth can participate by teaming with adult educators who are in the AYV partner network or registered with the AYV Community, an online source for free curricula and tools supporting the creation of digital content in an academic context. Entries must be submitted by the educators on behalf of youth participants. Educators from any school or youth organization may register with the AYV Community at no cost.

The submission deadline for content produced from 2011-2013 is Feb. 14, 2014. Projects produced in 2014 must be submitted by April 13, 2014.

From all eligible entries, 20 finalists will be selected in each of the seven standard content categories. Finalist entries will be showcased on the AYV Awards website April 28-May 30. During this period, an international panel of professionals working in art, film and other creative fields will select first, second, and third-place winners in each category. Projects will be judged based on story and message, creativity and style, and production quality.

The public is also invited to view and vote for favorite finalist project submissions. Entries generating the highest audience votes in each category will receive an Audience award.
