Monotype establishes global innovation hub in India

New Delhi, India, May 23, 2013: Monotype, a provider of typefaces, technology and expertise for creative applications and consumer devices, has expanded into India as Monotype Solutions India Pvt. Ltd.

Neeraj Gulati, Managing Director, Monotype Solutions India Pvt. Monotype India began its operations last year as part of the company’s acquisition of the font business of Bitstream Inc.

Monotype is home to some of the most popular typefaces in the world, such as the Helvetica, Frutiger, Univers, Arial, Times New Roman and Gills Sans designs. The company owns leading e-commerce websites, including the Fonts.com and MyFonts.com stores. The Fonts.com store offers more than 150,000 typeface products for users to preview, purchase and download, while MyFonts.com is a platform to not only purchase typefaces but also to sell them. MyFonts.com features 89,000 fonts from nearly 900 foundries, in addition to the widely used WhatTheFont identification service. Monotype has also worked with global giants such as Honda, Coca Cola, Starbucks, Sony, IBM and Louis Vuitton among many others.
