New Delhi, India, December 21, 2013: National Technical Systems, a leading provider of testing and engineering services, announced that it has been selected by iControl Networks as the test lab to perform certification testing for the iControl OpenHome Partner Program. iControl Platforms communicate with a wide variety of security and home automation products including smart door locks, light controls, thermostats, and smoke sensors, bringing the Internet of Things into the home.

NTS will be responsible for the execution of test plans developed by iControl to ensure that all ZigBee-enabled devices meet carrier and service provider standards for robust operation on iControl Platforms. Testing for the iControl OpenHome Partner Program will be performed by NTS Advanced Technology, located in Culver City, CA.

Vice president of ecosystem development at iControl Jason Domangue said, “The iControl OpenHome Partner Program integrates devices from top-tier consumer electronics companies into a central, standardized platform that gives consumers a truly connected home at the touch of a button. We believe NTS is the right partner to test the products that must interoperate to bring the Internet of Things into homes around the world, and to certify that the devices will all ‘talk’ to each other. We are excited to bring this increased level of confidence to our service provider and retail partners, and to consumers.”

NTS CTO Osman Sakr said, “NTS’ selection as the iControl OpenHome Partner Program test facility strengthens our leadership position in both ZigBee and the building automation and security market. Robustness and interoperability are imperative for market growth and acceptance of the Internet of Things. We look forward to being a part of the iControl OpenHome Partner Program and helping consumers automate and protect their homes in a variety of ways – from security sensors to door locks.”

Device developers interested in joining the OpenHome Partner Program can sign up for a device integration kit on the iControl website. Certified devices will become available to iControl’s service provider partners to offer to their customers around the globe.
