NETGEAR opens Global Engineering Centre in Bangalore

New Delhi, India, July 16, 2013: NETGEAR a global networking company that delivers products to consumers, businesses and service providers, announces the opening of its Global Engineering Centre in Bangalore. This Engineering Centre is the first research and development centre for NETGEAR in India, a part of its efforts it aims to promote efficient business development based on local needs in the rapidly growing Indian economy.

Patrick Lo, CEO and Chairman of NETGEAR, said “India is the perfect playground for NETGEAR. We already have a strong team of R&D engineers in India and plan to continue expansion. The R&D team is one of the fastest growing teams in our organization. We believe that Indian technological skills will help NETGEAR produce world class products. We also hope to increase NETGEAR’s presence in India in the future.

NETGEAR has a vibrant presence in all metropolitan cities in India and have atleast 40 to 50 partners in each of these metro locations.

Subhodeep Bhattacharya, Regional Director, India & SAARC, NETGEAR, said, NETGEAR is focussed on SMB infrastructure products mainly pitching to Switching, Wireless, Storage and Wi-Fi/Controllers segments. The addition of Global R&D centre will also help NETGEAR include Indian customer requirements and feedback in the product design phase. NETGEAR is continually taking initiatives to provide the latest technology and most advanced solutions to its customers and resellers in India. After opening its first SMB solution centre at Bangalore recently, the opening up of this R&D centre is another step from NETGEAR in this regard.
