 Would you please give a brief introduction on Pacnet?

Ans: Headquartered in Hong Kong and Singapore, Pacnet is the largest regionally-focussed managed Data and Network service provider. Pacnet operates as a critical gateway to Asia Pacific. Pacnet focuses solely on the specific needs of network carriers and enterprises with high-capacity data, network management and e-commerce needs. Pacnet owns and operates largest under-water cable network in Asia Pacific.

Mostly, you are entrenched in Asia and N. America. Do you have any European presence too? Any Plans?

Ans: Every carrier has its own strong region to operate with. Asia being fastest growing region globally, Pacnet has chosen to focus on Asia and N. America with a strong network and managed data services and acting as a critical gateway to Asia Pacific. We have  pop’s in London and Paris, and recently has enhanced these pop’s with additional capacities. Additionally, we cover Europe through our partnering arrangement with other Carriers.

Where does India figure in your overall global strategy? Any major plans for India?

Ans: India has always been very important for Pacnet, India is now part of Pacnet Global Network, With the recent strategic investments with new POP roll out in Major cities, expansion of global CDN PoP’s, extending Pacnet’s managed data and network services has further made India more important in global Strategy.

Would you please reflect upon your market strategy vis-a-via India?

Ans: Globally Pacnet has transformed itself by streamlining its operations to create flexible, customer centric organisation. In India as well Pacnet has transformed it self by changing focus from commodity business to a more refined managed data and network services to meet needs to Enterprise and Carriers. Some of the large IT / ITES, BFSI and Content providers are customers of Pacnet in India showcasing Pacnet’s strengths and Focus in India. Our focus is on customer service and we take flexible approach to meet the business requirements of our customers.

On 29th May, Pacnet completed the deployment of a Content Delivery Network (CDN) Point of Presence (PoP) in Bangalore. To what extent, will it impact your business prospects here?

Ans: CDN gets content closer and enhances web experience to end user. India being one of the largest consumer of Internet with large web user base, Pacnet CDN complements and ensures content is delivered with high quality to end users in India. India CDN PoP’s are part of Pacnet Global CDN network and with extension of one of the Asia’s strongest Pacnet Internet cloud into india has made Pacnet CDN as one the the most preferred platform for content providers to deliver their content in India and into Asia Pacific region.

CDN is one of our important service offerings in Indian market.

Would you detail us on Pacnet’s service portfolio?

Ans: Pacnet has a flat organization structure, providing managers clear visibility of its customers’ concerns, With Pacnet’s strong Engineering and Product Management teams, equipped with knowledge and latest technologies are working on improvising existing products and also developing new product portfolio to match customer needs. Our Global NOC’s at Singapore and Sydney and Pacnet Global Customer Service Center provides a standard and same experience, irrespective of the region service is ordered.

Pacnet’s customer focus has been built on strong platform which includes Information Management, Solid customer Experience, Leading Edge Technology, Real time Interaction and Virtual Infrastructure.

Over the past few months, Pacnet has set up a new data center in Singapore, opened up a facility in Chongqing, China, and an expanded its Sydney facility in Australia. Any major plans of such magnitude in India?

Ans: Pacnet has started building world class Data Centers in Asia Pacific region. As the business needs, we might think of revamping existing Data center in India and expand our Data Center foot print in India to complement our Managed Services Portfolio.

Pacnet has combined a complete set of services for managed data, private line, hosting, co-location, and content delivery. How is the response from the Indian market sofar? What is the rate of growth here?

Ans: Combining suite of services is to deliver one-stop shop and to ease the challenges of doing business in Asia Pacific. Indian Enterprises have already seeing pacnet as a strong partner to cater to their Network and Data Services needs. Pacnet is the only Asia Pacific Network and Data Service Provider with Infrastructure and expertise to offer fully outsourced IT solutions as a Service in Asia Pacific region. With infrastructure spread globally, and combined with suite of Services, we offer one-stop shop to cater to various Network and Data Needs.

How strong is your channel network in India?             

Ans: Channel Network in India for Pacnet has been operating in very niche segment. With our new improved product portfolio with support to white-label our services, we have re-defined our Channel approach in India. We have already started building a strong Channel Network in India who will help us to extend our reach beyond our Direct Sales.
