HP unveils ‘HP Designjet Z5400 PostScript ePrinter’ for copy shops
New Delhi, India, October 3, 2013: HP today launched the new HP Designjet Z5400 PostScript ePrinter, expanding the HP Designjet Z-series portfolio with the multi-roll, large-format ePrinter for copy shops.
HP Designjet Z5400 PostScript ePrinter targets market segments like copy shops, photoshops, photographers, graphic designing organisations, and exporters.
The new HP Designjet Z5400 PostScript ePrinter will help copy shops to fulfill urgent and diverse print requests, by offering solutions that can produce a large variety of applications quickly without having to compromise quality.

The HP Designjet Z5400 PostScript ePrinter supports printing large-format applications with good image quality, such as posters, photos, canvases, backlit prints, indoor signs, point-of-sale posters, line drawings and maps.
The HP ePrinter can print 53 square ft of printouts per hour with two-roll media and automatic switching features. This helps to reduce time spent on changing media and downtime in between multiple print jobs.
The HP Designjet Z5400 PostScript ePrinter features HP Multi-Dimensional Smart Drop Placement Technology. This allows for better color accuracy. Based on automatic drop detection and intelligent masking capabilities, the device detects then corrects ink placement errors during printing to reduce waste.
“The latest in a long haul of 19 product launches in this segment from our company this year, the HP Designjet Z5400 PostScript ePrinter is a pigment-based printer and offers excellent color grammage. It has 300 -ml catrige costing an affordable Rs 4800. The printer costs Rs. 3.2 lakh for end-users,” added Soni.
In terms of channel strategy, HP will push the printer into the market through a select set of existing channel partners who engage with photographers, photo shops and copy shops. The new HP printer comes with a one year warranty and commands a price of Rs. 3.2 lakh for end-users.
The product is landing in India and is expected to be commonly available in the market within next 10 days. Already it has won 80-100 customers, said Soni.
The new HP printer takes the PC off the scene. It can operate independent of a PC and its print comand. Data or images can be carried in Pen Drives for the print job. This new HP printer is capable of printing numerous other kinds of image files including that of photoshop, Correl Draw etc., besides dw and the ubiquitous .jpg files.
