LeEco mega-launches two flagship superphones-Le Max & Le1S in India
New Delhi, India, January 20th, 2016: LeEco, announced its India foray by holding a mega official launch event in Gurgaon at Kingdom of Dreams on January 20th, 2015 with great fanfare. The company power- launched its flagship Superphones, Le Max and Le1S at the event.
Packed with around 1,500 attendees including Fans, Superfans and media persons, the LeEco event kicked off with great fanfare. Facebook provided online live broadcast of the grand event, reaching a staggering audience number of close to 100 million, claims the company. The event validated true previous rumors by launching two groundbreaking Superphones, Le Max and Le1S.
LeEco announced to replicate its Ecosystem Model in India. The company introduced its success in other markets, including Mainland China, Hong Kong and the United States, and hopes to replicate the success in India by introducing its Ecosystems and break-through products, says Tin Mok, Group Vice President and CEO, APAC of LeEco.

Atul Jain, COO of Smart Electronics Business, Le Eco India, who came to LeEco from Samsung where he earlier served as Senior Vice President, Samsung South-West Asia Regional HQ, unveiled the the premium phone 6.33 inch screen. Effectively leveraging the Fan , Superfan marketing strategy, this phone earned its slogan, “Go Big, Go Bold”, which comes from a Le Superfan, and its eUI (Eco User Interface) has been constantly improved with feedback from more than 200,000 users worldwide.
Powered by the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octacore processor, the phone is primed for better multi-tasking and superior performance, thanks to its 4GB DD-R4 RAM. The phone also comes with 64GB and 128GB variants.
As claimed by the company, Le Max outsmarts several international rivals like HTC one M9, Sony Xperia Z5 by adopting AnTuTu Benchmarking Scaling with a performance score of almost 84,000.
Equipped with a 6-piece lens 21 MP rear camera with Sony’s IMX230 sensor and Optical Image Stabilizer, the Beast ensures sharper picture and video quality even in deem light. The Dual tone flash has two sources of light with different color temperatures ensuring the user getting the best balance of light when clicking pictures at any time of the day.
The front camera with a wide angle 5P lens and F2.0 aperture allows people take the best selfies and groupies. Effectively ousting the additional bezel, it makes a large phone of a 6.33 screen easier to suit computing needs. It boasts of a fingerprint scanner at the back to capture photos or videos.
Le Max has best in class Hi-Fi audio experience with features like noise-reduction, lower surface noise, better frequency response and higher power output capacity. The full metal unibody design out of aircraft grade aluminum makes it look great with a sleek but solid buid. Another icing on the cake is the full-floating glass, which is a Sharp Screen exclusively for LeEco, and bezel-less design, greatly boosting the viewing experience.
Le Max will be available in 2 colors- shimmer gold with 128GB and titanium silver with 64GB of memory, which would be available on Flipkart from 16th February. A top-end variation of Le Max – the pinkish Le Max Sapphire – was also launched. It carries mostly the same specs other than a a 6.33 inch display.
Besides Le Max, LeEco also released their Le1S. After its launch in China in November, the phone is reportedly sold more than 3 million units. Le1S is equipped with Helio X10 Turbo processor. It not only gives users the best multimedia experience and gaming experience without any lag or interruption. Another highlight is its type-C port and fast charging technology. A quick charge of 5 minutes can provide 3.5 hours of talk time, LeEco claims.
Le1S’ body length and width are 7.1mm and 3.7mm shorter respectively than 6s plus. Le1S weighs only 169 g i.e., 23g lighter than the same screen sized iPhone 6s Plus.
Le1S’s 13-megapixel camera is equipped with blue glass infrared filter and ISOCELL – a technology that interprets every single detail.The phone a good choice for sport fans, who want to capture un-blurred pictures in fast-moving sports.
Le1S sports fast fingerprint recognition technology, which can unlock the phone from any angle. It can maximally add 5 fingerprints. Different from traditional charging ports, which may need users to fumble twice in connecting correctly, type-C port is a two-way charging and customers can charge either side up.
The super-slim body and bezel-less industrial design gives Le1S a good ergonomic richness. The phone will also exclusively available on Flipkart starting 2nd February, with first flash sale on 2nd February starting 12 noon. The registration for the same will start on 20th January 6pm and will end on 2nd February at 11am.
The price of the two flagship superphones are also shocking, not for its high end features, but for its below industry cost pricing strategy.
In an industry first, LeEco didn’t hesitate to publicize the standard industry BOM cost ( (Bill of Materials – a list of the raw materials, sub-assemblies, intermediate assemblies, sub-components, parts and the quantities of each needed to manufacture an end product).
The Le Max is priced at Rs. 32,999 and Rs. 36,999. for the 64GB and 128GB, respectively, while Le1S is listed at Rs. 10,999.
The invitation-based Sapphire version of Le Max is prices will be 69,999 Rupees.
A new entrant, LeEco is building a network of 555 service stations in prime locations around India, to providie 24*7 multiple languages services to customers. In terms of warranty, within the 1 year warranty period, user can get a brand-new Le Max if the phone is broken or not working, promises the company.
LeEco also unveiled its near-future content plan. LeEco announced a strategic cooperation with Eros Film Company over content cooperation.
The company will also work with YuppTV, which will provide 250 live channels across 12 languages, offering entertainment, news, movies, music, kids, lifestyle and spiritual content. The content will be made available on Le Superphones in Q’2, 2016.
LeEco is betting big on India and is planning a large-scale R&D center in Bangalore by end of 2016, with over 1,000-people workforce, covering Super TV, Super Phone, accessories, LeMall, and Clouds etc.
