Marshmallow is Next Avatar of Android
SAN FRANCISCO, USA, 19th Aug, 2015: It has been reported that Google has come up with a name called Marshmallow for the upcoming operating system for its Android mobile devices.
The name for the 6.0 version of the popular mobile computing system follows Android’s popular platforms including Lollipop (5.0), KitKat (4.4), Jellybean (4.1) and Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0).
“Whether you like them straight out of the bag, roasted to a golden brown exterior with a molten center, or in fluff form, who doesn’t like marshmallows?” product manager Jamal Eason said in a post on the Android developer blog.
According to Eason, developers wishing to develop or update apps for Android will be able to download the software now.
Marshmallow, which will be the latest version, comes with enhancements in areas like fingerprint sensors and an updated power-saving mode.
