Centre for the Science of Learning at AlwarpetChennai, July 17th, 2014: Quest Explore Discover (QED) the flagship brand of Everest Edusys & Solutions, Pvt.Ltd in partnership with Chennai Corporation and Teachers College Columbia University inaugurated the Centre for the Science of Learning at Alwarpet. The centre was inaugurated by Worshipful Mayor Saidai S. Duraiswamy, Chennai Corporation, Mr. Vikram Kapur, IAS, Commissioner, Chennai Corporation & Mr. Krishna Kumar, Founder & Chairman of Everest Edusys and Solutions Pvt. Ltd.

This centre will be customized to improve the teaching capability and to assess the student potential by analysing data on student profile, learning behaviour and assessment metrics. This programme will also enhance the learning environment which will motivate students to focus on the career of their choice. First-of-its-kind in India, this centre will benefit 80,000+ students and 3000+ teachers.

Mayor Saidai S.Duraiswamy said, “This initiative will help monitor student’s performance and thereby enable teachers modify their teaching methodology according to student behaviour, attitude and aptitude. The state of the art infrastructure provided by Chennai Corporation Higher Secondary School powered by QED will definitely place Chennai in the forefront of science of learning.’’

Krishna Srinivasan, Founder and Chairman, Everest Edusys and Solutions, Pvt. Ltd, said “From the beginning, it has been QED’s vision and constant endeavour to bring teaching effectiveness & learning efficiency to the field of education in India. Our vision to improve the effectiveness & learning skill of teachers and create more interest among student community.’’

Ryan Baker, Associate Professor of Cognitive Studies at Teachers College, Columbia University said, “ I am extremely happy to be a part of this initiative, which address the quality and quantity problems that are common in most education ecosystems, using proven global tools and methodologies”.
