WatchGuard partners KYOCERA to integrate UTM Security Platform and Multifunction Printer Solution

Scott Robertson, Vice President in Asia Pacific and Japan at WatchGuard TechnologiesSeattle, February 17, 2014: WatchGuard Technologies, a leading integrated security platforms player, today announced that its unified threat management (UTM) platform will be integrated by KYOCERA Document Solutions Japan to deliver a new Security Management Service. The new service enables small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to print a variety of security visibility reports directly from WatchGuard’s security solutions through KYOCERA’s multifunction printers (MFP) and copiers. This will allow SMB customers to streamline their security management and reporting without dedicated IT staff.

“Many SMB customers do not have the resources for a dedicated IT or security professional, yet they still want to ensure their network is secure,” said Scott Robertson, Vice President in Asia Pacific and Japan at WatchGuard Technologies. “This partnership takes the best-in-class reporting capabilities of our UTM platform and allows KYOCERA MFP customers to directly print standard visibility reports through the digital operations panel of a MFP, which is an industry first.”

This new integration will offer SMB customers a simple alternative to more traditional security operation and management, and includes five standard reports: Rejected Packet List, Virus Detection, Content Filtering Block, Web Access List for Each Client, and RED Block.

Makoto Koga, President of KYOCERA Document Solutions Japan, said “WatchGuard’s UTM platform offers SMB customers a very powerful network security solution. Integrating its technology and reporting capabilities with our MFPs will allow us to help customers increase their network visibility, without the need for additional resources. This is just the first step in our relationship as we strategically address security in all of our networked devices.”
