Bangalore, India, April 17, 2014: A10 Networks, a leading provider of application networking products, today launched four new Thunder Series appliances, including a 100 Gigabit Ethernet capable Layer 4-7 network appliance, and new mid-range and high-end models that expand the company’s portfolio of appliances, providing  greater price/performance to customers seeking to scale and secure their demanding data center applications and networks.

A10 Networks’ four new Thunder Series models, with flexible 10GbE/40GbE/100GbE interface options and total throughput ranging from 40Gps to 150Gbps, are designed to meet escalating performance needs. With these new Thunder Series appliances, A10 Networks aims to maintain performance leadership in the fixed Layer 4-7 networking appliance category.

The new Thunder Series appliances are based on A10′s innovative Advanced Core Operating System (ACOS) software, which delivers price performance for a given amount of memory and CPU resources. They also leverage the same data center efficient designs as other ACOS-based appliances consuming less power, cooling and rack space, which are critically important metrics for large data center operators.

The A10 Thunder Series is A10′s premium product family delivering the higher performance application networking solutions up to 150 Gbps, integrating expanded system resources to support future feature needs, and offering a broad array of physical, virtual and hybrid form factors. The Thunder Series offers a portfolio of Application Service Gateways that address a range of customer needs, including Application Delivery Controllers (ADCs), Carrier Grade Networking (CGN) and DDoS mitigation solutions.

“As data center traffic rates continue to rapidly rise driven by major trends like mobile and big data, our customers see increasing demands on data center networks, requiring ever great scale, performance and security,” said Jason Matlof, Vice President of Marketing. “A10 has consistently delivered substantially greater price performance relative to our competitors. Today’s announcement of the industry’s first 100GbE L4-7 application networking appliances and other new models continues this leadership. We are committed to delivering our service provider, enterprise and web giant customers high performance solutions that help them keep pace with traffic demands, performance requirements and increasing security threats.”
