Concentrix Wins Gold for Corporate Social Responsibility Efforts in India
Srinagar, India, 21st Jan, 2016: Humanitarian efforts by Concentrix staff have earned the company the 5th Annual Greentech CSR Gold Award in the Services Sector for Outstanding Achievement in Corporate Social Responsibility.
Widespread flooding in India’s Kashmir region ravaged thousands of villages in September 2014, destroying more than 100,000 homes and damaging countless others. Concentrix leadership quickly forged a partnership with the Love Care Foundation to aid relief efforts. The Concentrix task force provided volunteers and delivered 25,000 kilograms (more than 55,000 pounds) of food, 4,200 blankets and other critical supplies, ranging from candles to tents to mosquito coils.
In addition to immediate disaster relief, the Concentrix task force committed to long-term recovery, building 85 temporary homes (known as hutments) and participating in “Smarter Village” redevelopment efforts that include job skills training for residents.
“At Concentrix, supporting our communities in which we operate is important to us,” said Concentrix India General Manager Ravinder Rana. “Part of the foundation of our culture is our strength in our diversity.”
Concentrix President Chris Caldwell said, “It comes as no surprise that our staff rallied together to help the people of the Kashmir region, as we have done many times over the years in various parts of the world in which we operate.”
The award was presented during the 16th Annual Greentech sustainability and CSR Conference held on Nov. 27-28 in Hyderabad, India.
