Samsung-Galaxy-S5New Delhi, April 12, 2014: The much-waited Samsung Galaxy S5 – Samsung’s latest version of the Galaxy smartphone has hit Indian stores and is officially on sale now. The phone carries a price tag of Rs 51,000-53,000.

Launched at the Mobile World Congress 2014 at Barcelona in February,
the Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone has gone on sale in India along with the rest of the world.

Earlier launched in India on March 28, it was available for pre-booking on March 29.

The worldwide sale comes a day after Samsung faced a second consecutive quarterly decline in profit. Now the company will hope to make most out of the flagship smartphone. However, the phone has received mix reviews from critics, with some saying it lacks the ‘wow’ factor.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 has some new features such as dust-proof, waterproof and finger scanner. It will be available in four colours – black, white, blue and gold.

The smartphone has a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED (1080 x 1920p) display and is powered by an octa-core processor with 2GB RAM. It has a 16GB internal memory that is expandable to 128GB via a microSD card. It has a 16MP rear camera and a 2.1MP front-facing camera.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 also features a finger scanner and S Health, a personal fitness tracker.
